If anyone has suggestions of more interesting books dealing with similar subjects, please let me know. I just finished reading this book and I didn't really like it. The information isn't really new and it's presented in a boring format.
Now if one were to equate this "zero point field" with an undifferentiated state of being, of pure consciousness - oh heck, let's just for giggles call it heaven; didn't a wise man once say something to the effect "I tell you with certainty, unless you change and become like little children, you will never get into the kingdom of heaven."This elegant work is replete with ah-ha moments like the one above. It was shown that children naturally spend more time with their brains in alpha phase (as opposed to adults who's brains spend more time in beta phase) and it was concluded that children were consequently more adept at interacting with the field (i.e. Lynne McTaggart's writing style is fluid, descriptive, captivating yet reveals a paucity of personal opinion, which I commend, as I'm not so much interested in what she thinks but what she has to report. Inspiring, educational, joyful, luminescent. However one particular passage jumped off the page and took me into a quasi-samadhi experience. As usual, I'm late to the party on an epic work such as this.
In fact, most of the pieces have yet to be discovered. the zero point field). Don't let the materialist/reductionists fool you, like any other form of dogmatic thought (I wonder if those 2 words are in fact mutually exclusive - i.e., "dogmatic" & "thought"). In paraphrase - Lynne was recounting a series of experiments that were designed to test the ability of people to interact with "The Field". I adored this book. religious or scientific, the jury is still out - all the pieces of the puzzle are not in place.
This is in direct opposition to other "reporters" who are more interested in editorializing than promoting their findings.I generally don't provide spoilers in my reviews as I don't read books from an editorial perspective, but rather from the heart and/or mind as the case warrants.
Read it. Lynne McTaggart has done the, seemingly, impossible. The Intention Experiment: Using Your Thoughts to Change Your Life and the World Learn from it, then, get the sequel and change everything that you thought you knew about reality. She has made Quantum Physics Research and the resulting Earth shaking conclusions understandable and enjoyable for the layman. Her work, THE FIELD; THE QUEST FOR THE SECRET FORCE OF THE UNIVERSE explores the facinating realm of the very small to the vastness of the incomprehensibly large and she does it with style, wit, and an eye for detail.
This "cobweb of energy exchange" links `all' in the universe and controls everything even the workings of the mind and can be harnessed for levitation, ESP, spiritual healing and much, much more. After you read this book it may be a good time to consider reading my book entitled "The Enlightenment, What God Told Me After One Million Prayers, a Message for Everyone" (See Profile Above) The Field Updated Ed: The Quest for the Secret Force of the Universe by Lynne Mctaggart is a book that describes a unified concept of the universe. The author believes that there is a "cobweb of energy exchange" that links everything in the universe.
But well worth it. It's not an easy read. The implications of the discoveries made in quantum physics and conclusions drawn from the experiments in this book are mind/body/soul altering. Everyone should read this book.
